Accelerated Reading
Accelerated Reading
This program encourages students to read. It increases a child’s interest in reading while improving their reading comprehension.
For a student to earn AR points a student reads a book from the AR list and then takes a comprehension test on the computer. The test will have at least five multiple-choice questions about the story they have read. They can also take a test on a story that was read to them by an adult.
An AR book from the school library should be marked with a blue or green dot. It will tell how many points the book is worth and the books reading level.
To see the list of AR books click on Accelerated Reader information.
First Grade 0.1--1.9 Reading Level
If your child has read a book or you have read a book to your child and you feel they are ready to take an AR test then just write a note in your child's agenda. Thanks.
